What's in the Bookbag Today?



Did you dig up any good books this week? Or any nuts?  Here are a couple of books you might enjoy this week while you think about where you left those nuts. These were all hits in our house.

Composer and Artist Study Week 1

Grade 9 learning continues with composer and artist studies for the next 9 weeks. These are the links to what we are studying.

Art lesson for this week will be on Portraits (select one or more):
  1. Go to site and watch the video on drawing a face, then using a photo or model, draw a portrait.
  2. Create a portrait using the "Art Techniques 1"  lesson from the Mary Hill Museum of Art.
  3. Artistic Pursuits Jr High book 1 - lesson 5 Neutrals - This has a lesson on how to draw skin colors followed by student drawing a self portrait in neutral pastels. 
  4. Reflective Silhouette - 8th grade lesson on contour drawing using a silhouette of student
